Manchester Aquatics Centre opens following £31m refurbishment

Today [13.07.23] marks the official opening following the refurbishment of Manchester Aquatics Centre.
The £31m transformation has focused on decarbonisation by installing roof mounted PV, ASHPs and battery storage, with the objective of supporting the City's transition to become zero carbon by 2038.
Internally, a full refurbishment and modernisation of facilities have taken place - from the Olympic-sized 50m pool, 25m diving pool and leisure pools, to the fitness suites, changing spaces and café.
The flagship venue will be hosting the Para Swimming World Championships later this month, and will continue to showcase Manchester on the world stage for many years to come.
A truly iconic scheme to have been involved in alongside Manchester City Council, MCRactive, GLL, Ridge and Partners, TACE, NG Bailey, FT Leisure and Kier Construction.
