Burleigh Road – Projects

Built on the site of a vacant care home, our fourth scheme with Hamberley, Burleigh Road, Ascot is a new 80 bed luxury care home operated by Gracewell Healthcare to provide dementia, residential and nursing care.

The site is located on the edge of a residential area, bound by large detached houses, ‘villas in woodland settings’ and Royal Ascot Racecourse. Although fronting two roads the site is heavily screened to all boundaries with landscaping, mature trees and hedgerow.

We initially undertook a number of development appraisals for the existing home which enabled Hamberley to consider all options for the site before instructing the option to re-provide the home.

Our building is a sympathetic and modern interpretation of the architectural language and materials widely used in Ascot and the surrounding areas, sited to enhance the landscaping and woodland setting the home provides 80 ensuite bedrooms with communal areas including cinema, café, hair and beauty and discreet spaces for the care services.

The siting and orientation of the home offers upper floors and terraces direct views of Ascot racecourse, with more private views from terraces at lower floors onto landscaped areas and sensory gardens which blend into the existing mature screening and street scene.
