This ambitious project forms one part of the overall regeneration of Epping town centre. Developed in conjunction with Corstophine and Wright Architects, the site is located on the site of the current town centre car park. Bound by residential development, the design makes use of the heavily sloping site to hide the overall bulk of the building and not impose itself on its surrounding neighbours.
The centre comprises a six lane 25m pool, learner pool, 100 station fitness suite, two studios, two squash courts, spin studio, four court sports hall, wet and dry changing facilities and café.
The scheme will be net zero carbon in use and rated BREEAM Excellent.
The scheme has just started on site with Pellikaan Construction as the main contractor.
