This residential development made national press when the first 30 houses were reserved within an hour. Potential buyers had been camping outside the sales centre for three days prior to the release date.

Before work could begin, though, contaminated land across three brownfield sites needed to be treated and existing pylons and transmission routes accommodated.

A mix of unit-sizes, ranging from single-person flats through to family houses, was identified for the development. The residential units were built around the perimeter of the site, arranged to provide a clear definition of public and private spaces. Streets and open space were aligned with HV transmission routes, which were safely and elegantly integrated into the design.
