Lever Gardens Court – Projects

Completed in April 2024 by Caddick Construction, this scheme now provides 62 extra care apartments (one and two-bed) alongside six bungalows to the community.

Providing much needed extra care accommodation and communal facilities at the heart of Little Lever in Bolton. This development replaces an outdated care home and forms part of a larger retirement community of bungalows owned and manged by Bolton at Home.

Proximity to local amenities, shops, community facilities and public transport routes led to the site being identified in the Little Lever masterplan for an extra care development. Considerable changes in level across the site have been accommodated with a two-storey element to the building frontage, to complement the surrounding street context, changing to three storeys to the lower part of the site. Open and flexible communal facilities of a lounge and bistro provide an active frontage and public face to the neighbourhood. Two of the bungalows will be designated for wheelchair users with all areas designed for easy use including a clear turning space in each room with wider corridors and entrance lobby.

A large and accessible residents garden, with year-round planting, is designed for both quiet contemplation and purposeful activity.
