​The Wharf – Projects

After a history of failed planning applications by other architects stemming from the sensitivity of the site’s location on the western fringe of the Lea Valley Regional Park, and objections from a local opposition group, we delivered these mixed-tenure apartments on programme and within budget.

Extensive consultations with the Local Planning Authority and local stakeholders were undertaken. This informed a design arranged as a series of pavilion blocks in the landscape, varying between four to seven storeys in height, which successfully addressed local concerns and led to a full planning approval.

Within each block, each apartment is designed to lifetime homes standards, has views of the park or river, access to excellent transport links and the Wharf’s own CHP energy centre.
