Located alongside the River Dane, this independent living apartment scheme is set within the Northwich Town Centre Conservation Area. The design has been informed by the distinct local historic black and white timbered buildings which line the town’s high street. The apartments are arranged in a U-shape, which addresses the intersection of the roads and river whilst creating a protected external landscaped courtyard.
The development transformed a derelict site into a vibrant and active corner on a prominent approach into Northwich. Across the four-storey building are 70 one and two-bed apartments for the over 55s, including 45 for shared ownership and 25 for outright sale.
Both the bistro facility on site and landscaped gardens provides communal areas for residents to spend in, relaxing and socialising. Internally the apartments were designed to a high specification and incorporate large, light living spaces.
The development is part-funded by Homes England, which forms part of the Wave 2 funding package, in line with the Government’s aspiration to provide 11,000 affordable new homes across the country.
